Six Senses Laamu

I rate six senses laamu a 5/5 and here is why. My family and I came to six senses laamu in the middle of July. We stayed for a little over a week. IT WAS SPECTACULAR!!! From six senses laamu lounge to the island was amazing, lovely bathrooms, complementary food and really friendly staff. Once arriving at the island we were greeted and introduced to the people on the island, and our GEM ( guest experience manger) his name was Pablo. My family and I loved Pablo he was so friendly, helpful and overall a lovely person. The island itself was beautiful. We stayed on jetty A on an overwater villa and it was so fun. The way of travel around the island is all by bike which makes in convenient and quick. The people working on the island were all very professional and lovely to talk to. They all made you feel very welcomed which was comforting. And the food was so good!!! It was so healthy and fresh. And there were so many fun activities to do and things to see. My dad, brother and me all surf so we joined in with tropic surf on trips everyday and everyone apart of tropic surf was so helpful and really chilled out with a cool surfer vibe. Especially Josh and Fiona , they were amazing helpers. Overall our holiday was 10/10 I would 100% recommend six senses laamu to anyone. It was overall the most put together chilled out, most beautiful place I have ever been. I miss it so much and I miss everyone on the island.

Our trip was wonderful and relaxing, made all the better by fantastic staff. Our GEM Abdulla was the best, always friendly and helpful, fantastic with the kids and always there with a smile. The island has plenty to offer along with daily excursions and holistic workshops, outdoor cinema and a truly delightful kids club which our girls (3&5) really enjoyed. The food is out of this world. We’ll recommend Six Senses Laamu to everyone for the rest of our lives. Our stay at this resort was truly magical. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the entire team at the dock. A GEM (Guest Experience Maker) is assigned to each guest to assist with any questions, help book activities, and ensure everything runs smoothly. We were lucky enough to have Sina as our GEM! Our experience at Six Senses Laamu was nothing short of amazing. We particularly loved the resort's barefoot philosophy, which encourages guests to kick off their shoes and fully embrace the island lifestyle. We didn’t wear shoes for the entirety of our vacation, and it was so freeing! We want to emphasize that our holiday experience was made 100 times better because of the incredible people who work on the island. -Alshan, our lovely waiter whom we looked forward to seeing every morning at breakfast. He made us laugh with his jokes and brightened our days. -Warren, whose contagious smile and expert mixology skills made him our favorite bartender, especially with those incredible shrubs. -Hassan, who greeted us every day with a big smile and checked in to see how we were doing. -Dr Ash who helped heal my leg after an unfortunate water-skiiing fall. -Hi Shaam, our lovely waister who was incredibly sweet and attentive! Last but not least, Sina, our wonderful GEM, made sure every aspect of our stay was perfect. He was incredibly hospitable throughout our entire stay, going out of his way to ensure everything was easygoing and enjoyable. We truly enjoyed his company when he checked in on us each day. We also want to extend our gratitude to everyone on the island. We regret not noting down all the names!!Special thanks to the bartenders at Chill Bar and Sip Sip, ALL the amazing waiters, the out-of-this-world chefs at the breakfast buffet and dinner (especially at Teppanyaki!), Sarita, our lovely yoga teacher who introduced us to aerial yoga, and Ihaka, who was so kind and clearly an incredible support system for the crew. Thank you to the fantastic housekeeping team for keeping our place spotless, the men and women who kept the beaches and sandy paths pristine, the surf crew, diving crew, and the water sports team, who all made our experience unforgettable. We had the opportunity to stay at several resorts in the Maldives, and I can confidently say that Six Senses Laamu is the best we have ever experienced. Everything was impeccable, from the moment we arrived in Male to the time of check-out. Six Senses Laamu is one of the most remote resorts in the Maldives, as it is the only one located on the Laamu atoll, making it unique, secluded, and teeming with marine life. The entire experience at Laamu is "barefoot"—literally, no one wears shoes! The laid-back style is reflected in the design and ambiance of the accommodations, all built from wood and in perfect harmony with the resort and location. The island offers a wide array of activities, and one week was simply not enough! I highly recommend the sustainability tour and a visit to the Shell (Marine research center), both of which were very impressive and showcased the resort's efforts to minimize its impact on the environment. The dining options are also plentiful. We enjoyed amazing sushi at Zen and had one of the most delicious pizza lunches. The teppanyaki dinner was also a lot of fun! Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing team that runs the resort. Many employees work together to ensure everything runs seamlessly. In particular, Pablo, our GEM, took great care of us in a polite and approachable manner, creating an unforgettable itinerary, and we are very thankful to him. The stay at the Six Senses Laamu was an experience of a life time (but now planning to return!), from the moment you get in the sea plane you feel like you are dreaming. When you arrive to the resort you really have to pinch yourself to make sure that what you are seeing is real. We stayed at a Villa in the middle of jetty A and the view of the open sea and sea life was magnificent, my wife got to experience snorkeling for the first time and she loved it. Everybody seems to know your name and congratulated us on our 30th. wedding anniversary, this adds to their personal touch. The cherry on the cake was our GEM Soba, he took care of us like we are part of his family, he let us know of some perks we were entitled to by being an IHG Diamond Elite member. The most amazing destination to relax and experience all the Six Senses. The resort was perfect and located in an awesome part of the Maldives. The food, activities and beautiful surrounds made for the best holiday we have ever had. Compliments to the staff, they were all great. A big shout out to Pablo, our GEM, he was fantastic. He catered for our every need and always had a smile, was super friendly and a delight to meet. We wish we were still there. Thanks to all. Hope to see you again in the near future.

Amazing Destination with a Hotel that actually cares about their impact, and works to try and mitigate it. Amazing food, service, attentiveness and an unspoilt location. Travel here if you want to disconnect and love to respect your hosts and its local environment. The Olive Ridley project is a great integration to the resort.

We’ve visited various islands in the Maldives but Six Senses Laamu beats them all hands down. The resort is pure understated luxury with the most amazing personal touches. From being greeted by all the staff on arrival, to them knowing all our names, from the personalised wooden initial nameplates on your bicycle, to your fridge stocked up with your favourite drinks and even down to the type of milk you drink. To top this all off you get your own personal GEM. Ours was Pablo who was amazing - so thoughtful and enthusiastic. He helped us organise our surfing, booked us on snorkelling trips and even sent us the menus in advance for the restaurants each evening. The staff literally cannot do enough for you and if there’s something you don’t like, they’ll change just like that and without a fuss. There are 2 very special restaurants on the island - Leaf and Zen. The food was outstanding at both but Leaf in particular has a special vibe and feels almost magical when it is lit up at night. We had the most wonderful 9 days on Laamu and none of us wanted to leave. I’m embarrassed to say I even shed a tear getting on to the seaplane but it really is heaven on earth and we will go back at the earliest opportunity.

Just returned from my (i believe…) 9th visit at Six Senses Laamu, my home away from home… It was wonderful to be back and once more enjoy all the great things this place has on offer, trust me you cannot get bored here. The sheer quality of everything is hard to describe, of course this takes a lot of efforts but the entire team makes it feel so easy. Every single one of them excel at hospitality, with sincere smiles all day long. Special thanks to all the chefs, who go out of their way to accommodate my dietary requirements, form saffron risotto to a fully customised five course vegetarian dinner on the beach instead of the lobster that was on menu, with a cucumber ceviche to die for. I would recommend everyone to pre-book a wellness program at the spa: private yoga, meditation, breathwork followed by the best Ayurvedic treatments in the world (thanks Anil; you are the best!!) is a life-changing experience. Also do book a private snorkeling trip with one of the marine biologists to one or more of the outstanding nearby reefs, really worthwhile! Coco: we are still looking at the amazing underwater pictures everyday and cannot believe we were witness to that beauty just a week ago! I miss you all already so look forward to my return visit in February! Until then, please keep safe, happy and smiling, taking care of this unique Hope Spot.
